Why don't you keep your current pc and just buy a better gpu like 2x gtx 680 or the gtx 690?
If you want a new pc then there's not much point to it because you got the 2600k and even the 3770k ivy bridge barely got any boost when it comes to gaming.
If you want to have two gaming computers then that's a different situation.
Just get a z77 motherboard (200-300$ depending on your needs)
2700k or the 3770k if you want the ivy bridge (about 350$)
Any decent atx case depending on your needs(100-200$)
A 60GB(100$ more or less) or 120GB($150-$200) for OS and apps or games ( get a good 1TB hard drive for 100$-150$)
$100 for 8gb or 2x4gb 1600mhz ram
100$ for win 7 64 bit
That's about 1400$ if you want the best mb, good atx case and 120gb or more ssd.
I'm sorry that I wasn't specific because I don't want to get the idea of building a new computer again since I just made mine 3 months ago and I like to build new computers. The last computer I made was 8 months ago.

1000$ budget for everything except gpu and storage because Gpu's budget is separate

You can still build a pretty nice gaming rig for $1000 before taxes.

Well, what GPU are you planning on getting? And how many?
You looking for a full-tower case or mid-tower?
As for SSDs, personally, I'm very happy with my Samsung 830 128GB

i am thinking about getting 6950s 2gb version in Xfire. and probably will buy them used (in a pair) there are people on craigslist, selling $180 ea (asking price) lol and i can try to get them for 150 each ~trololol.
i am assuming 6950s in Xfire should be a little better than GTX460 sli ?
for tower, i am planning to get either silverstone raven or antec DF.
now my question is, if i get i7 2600k i can go back to P67 series and higher end boards are cheaper and on the other side, i5 3570k + z77 boards, where z77 are a bit expensive.

If you don't want to get a Z77 i would at least get a Z68 board.
