Quite some people got that on their 680's already and they get 55C Load Temps OCed with 40% Fan Speed.
I can tell you at 40% those coolers are inaudible.
You just need a good ventilated case, because 95% of the heat is exhausted inside. But i doubt you gonna buy a 680 and stuff it in a case with only 2 fans
|
I do. Well, two for intake and two for blowing air out.

Hell, mine has been pushing out SKYRIM and Fallout 3 both on Ultra and I have yet to actually hear it..
Yes it is VERY quiet.
I would think u would only hear it if you have next to zero noise from your case/cpu fans etc.
VERY impressed.

Silent ~ no noise
GTX 680 idle ~ noise made
GTX 680 load ~ LOTS of noise made

For the majority of folks that build their systems wo/ regard for sound dampening yes. To those of us that frequent SCPR and research our fans/cases til we're blue in the face...no, not at all. In fact, I returned my reference 680 cause it drove me nuts. But, I'm probably in the minority of folks that don't care for loud noises in a computer...we need more of us honestly.

Very much depends on several factors.
I have Gigabyte Windforce and they are super quiet compared to reference - which I have tried - and reference and not loud that's for sure.

My 680 is very silent, even under load while gaming I cant hear the fan. My case fans are louder and they aren't loud by any means. Most powerful yet most silent card I've had.

I have golden ears and can tell when I'm listening to 320 MP3's or FLAC on my current setup.
My 4 case/cpu fans spin @ 600 RPM. They are SFLEX's.
