Advice on new stick of RAM to be the most compatible with existing stick -

I have two 4GB sticks of the following RAM on a GA-Z68XP-UD3 motherboard:
Crucial Ballistix Sport Series 8GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL10
One of the sticks just went bad on me, so I'm looking to replace it, but the specific RAM I have appears to be discontinued. What are some guidelines to follow when combining different sticks of RAM in one system for the best chance of compatibility? If I stick with Crucial, will I be ok, or do I need to be more specific than that?
I've historically had good experience with G.Skill, but don't want to do too much mixing if there is a higher chance of things not working right. Although the price is cheap enough right now, I may just get 2 sticks of G.Skill and if the existing Crucial stick doesn't work out, I'll still have 8GB, which is plenty for now. Thoughts?
*Edit* System info in my profile is not updated yet. I'll do that when I get a chance.
Thanks in advance.

usually all you have to match is the timings, speed, and the voltage and you should be fine.

I personally would not mix different RAM sticks. Memory is so cheap now that you'd be better off replacing all your memory or just keep the 8 GB you have now as it's plenty for current gaming (assuming you game and don't need lots of RAM for some application or whatnot).

Agree, itis better to change your stick, and get two same. But if you insist on keeping this one, do as Agent-A01 suggested. Also, don't mix two sided modules with one sided modules, i never do that, make sure both are same.
