Default laptop vs old comp - 05-01-2012, 03:17 | posts: 5

Ok I built my old comp off new egg like 6 years ago but it kicked the bucket last year. The specs of it that I remember were.

windows xp
amd am2 4800
nvidia 7900 gto
2g ddr2 ram
600w psu
asus mobo

all I can remember off the top of my head.

I picked up a decent looking laptop for the gf last weekend, for just basic stuff she uses it for but I staryed thinking a bit after checking out the specs.

I tried running counter strike 1.6 it doesn't even get a constant 100fps. Never delt with ati so I'm not sure how it's crossfire it claims it has AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6520G 8.910.0.0 CrossFireX 512Mb and a HD 6470m1g.

So my question is should this laptop be able to play counter strike 1.6, WoW and some older games? Cause my old comp did amazing with them and I'm not sure how laptop specs really work. Also if it has the gpu ability would it be the quad core at 1.5g be holding it back?

You should be able to run CS 1.6 at 100fps considering it's a 12 year old game. Maybe check your drivers, etc?
