I guess I find invincible heroes fighting monsters that died when sneezed at kind of boring. Not to mention that the main villain (Loki) was horribly miscast and Scarlett Johansson was a completely useless figure in this movie who was only cast (in my opinion) to add some sex appeal; the arrow dude was also kind of stupid ("My superpower is that I shoot arrows very well"...yay?).

But on the whole it was entertaining enough for one watch. And the Hulk had some very humorous scenes.
Loki horribly miscast? Are you serious? Tom Hiddleston is getting universal praise for his portrayal! He's managed to stay pretty true to the comic character imo

Well there are some reasons.

1. It might have to do with a lot of stuff such as IMAX screen availability or clashing with other films' release dates. If a publisher has paid for a IMAX showing until a certain date, the cinema can't just decide to show The Avengers instead of the other film. Marvel will make sure all, if not most IMAX or large screens are available to maximize profit and the experience for the viewer.

2. Probably also has something to do with the fact that most illegal cam recordings come from the usa if I'm not mistaken. If they release it in foreign countries first, they have less risk of losing money because other countries decide to watch the cam. (Which would be incredibly retarded for this film imo).

If true, then the comic character is pretty pathetic for a villain. I though Samuel Jackson was a better villain and he was even an ally!

Did we watch the same movie?, Tom Hiddleston was as perfect a cast as Robert Downey Jr was for Tony Stark/Iron Man, in other words he was made for the part.

His performance in this was fantastic and as sdamaged99 has said in most reviews they are saying the same thing.

I saw it today and I have to say it completely exceeded my expectations. I thought it was gonna fall short but actually it was very well made and all the heroes have their golden moments. REAL fun and very exciting!. Hulk was priceless . This movie made me change my mind, Ruffalo is the best Hulk, he fits into the role much better than Bana or Norton.

Woot what an awesome film. No real show stealing characters they all got a decent amount of screen time and a decent amount of action, even the two that didn't have their own dedicated movie, although does anyone get the feeling that from what we got told in the film that a Black Widow film could come along at some point?

Black Widow is a pretty poor stand-alone character; she would need the Arrow dude to begin to round out any movie.

Shouldn't be that way though but ohh well.. I would imagin big movies like this open everywhere at the same time but apparently the reasons I've read here and else where don't add up for this one.

I'm going to see it this Saturday, expecting big!

Yeah dunno why I posted that one, the backstory she alluded to whilst taunting Loki was interesting enough within the context of The Avengers but both characters, even together, aren't really interesting enough to make a full movie.

Oh and I missed saying it in my first post but Ironman's entrance in Germany.... best entrance ever!
