Improving graphic performance

a6 3400m
6520G
6gb Ram at 1333
120 ssd drive

I feel that I am missing something with my computer. I have updated the drivers to the newest release. I have Catalyst (and radeon pro) set for performance. And I have any virtual memory eaters gone. But I still have trouble achieving 30 fps average on mass effect 1.

I am considering going from 6 gb of ram at 1333 to 8 at 1600, but I am not sure the memory controller goes past 1333. Ive read alot of conflicting information about it. Some say it can go up to 1600 some say it stops at 1333.

I feel my laptop is being held back somehow. I have a friend who has a a6 3400m also, But his laptop only has 4 gb of ram. Yet it constantly achieves higher frame rates at similair settings.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Seeing as how the graphics subsystem uses RAM, see if your memory is still in dual channel mode. If not, remove 2GB and retest (should enable dual channel mode).

the resolution is 1336 by 768, normal res. And ill try taking out and putting the ram back in next time i open the case. Im just not sure whats causing it. It might just be me noticing the lag. Im used to two 5770s in crossfire after all lol
