Default Win 8 media center stuttering, fps issues - 04-19-2012, 01:38 | posts: 425 | Location: Seattle

Im getting media center fps drops randomly, with stuttering playback.
Tried different NVidia drivers, same thing.
And yes , I have 75 gigs for time scaling etc. No hardware conflicts etc.
Any ideas wtf is going on?

Do you get the same problem using a different video decoder like say VLC? It might not be driver or OS related, it could just be the media center.

I doubt any other players will work in win 8. So far no luck with that.

Ok, I set affinity to just one core and set priority to realtime.
Seems to work so far...cant get those settings to stick however, weird.

Well it seems better but still get random low fps.
I think it may be audio issue. Get cpu spikes from "windows audio graph isolation" in task manager corresponding to dips in fps. hmm
