I don't know if it's a repost, but this is just big news for me! What do you guys think? It's supposed to be a tier lower than the Ti version but they say it's still around 400 dollars?

I think the 670ti will be priced a little higher than the GTX580, depending on performance. 670 might be priced the same as the 580. It'll make sense since it's replacing them. Just my thoughts.

GTX 670 should be just a bit more expensive than 580 due to new architecture/features, but it's not gonna be that huge. I'm waiting for another card nvidia was hiding, just released some pics to get ppl wondering what's it gonna be. i bet it'll be something like 690.

I'm just hopeful for a card on par with a 7870 in terms of price

There is more to pricing than relative performance. The 7970 and 680 are both overpriced in that regard.

The 680 is a tiny chip and on 28nm they have had significantly higher yields compared to 40nm cards, yet this is not reflected in the price.

It stinks of price fixing from both sides. If they had comparable performance or comparable pricing then it would encourage competition, yet conveniently they slot them in and around other cards in terms of performance and price so as to discourage price wars.

I am dying for a new GPU but I got both my GTX280 and GTX480 for $599AUS just after launch. Yet the 680 ( which for many reasons could be called a mid range kepler chip, for it's power consumption, vram size and bus width, as well as it's small increase in performance over the previous high end card ) costs $699+ ( AUS ).

Availability isn't even a factor as all cards at launch suffer from low supply and the yields this time are much higher.

So it certainly shouldn't be priced higher than the GTX580.

Although given the inflated prices of this round of GPUS I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

I want something to replace my 5850 but if I only wanted to spend ~220 GBP again then there's not a lot of options (I look for at least 50% performance increase). Maybe, just maybe they'll drop the 7870 prices to sensible levels when the 670ti hits...

I'm kinda surprised they "want" to release the 690 before the 660 and 670.

The GTX 580 has stopped production anyway so it shouldn't need to compete with it anymore.

Price is way too high.
Its next gen, performance/price ratio should be much higher, all prices need to drop, especially in recession.
It doesnt bode well for GTX 685/780 GK110/112, that will be way over £500 by the looks of it.
A lost sale here if they dont price sensibly.

It's definitely interesting to see prices being so high in the current "situation". There's recession almost everywhere and they were able to sell all their recent lines of cards for at least a full year.

As my GTX 470 died "tragically" yesterday I'll have to find a good replacement rather sooner than later. My original plan was to wait for the possible refresh in autumn/winter but now I'll have to find something sooner.
I'd love to get one of the newer models but can't be bothered to pay 500€ for a 680.

If the new "670" beats the 580 and costs around 350€ my problem would be solved
