Default Stuttering on BF3 - 04-13-2012, 04:43 | posts: 73 | Location: Puerto Rico

Hi iv been having soem mayor stuttering problem while playing bf3 on Multyplayer, had to lower my setting sot a mix of high, medium, and low settings, also lower my res to 1280x960, this allows me to play on most maps 38~ fps, i am thinking of upgrading to a phenom II X4, from my P2 X2, i was wondering if this will help at all? this is the only game ofcourse that gives me problems, i mostly pla yon 1280x1024 all my games, on max settings just fine, its just bf3 its whole another story on multyplayer. any help will be appreciated.

Bro you will need to upgrade your cpu.. i see your motherboard supports the latest Phenom 2 cpus. so at minimum i recommend a quad core like this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103727
for $120. if you can spare the cash to buy a new mobo cpu and ram i would definetly get a Z77 motherboard and the intel ivy bridge cpu, ie i5 3570k

bf3 really runs like crap on anything less than a quad core.

thats what i was thinking of getting, upgrading to the quadcore p2's, and btw isint that cpu you linked incompatible with my mobo? if not mistaken my mobo will only take 95w max, the one you linked is 125w.

ah my bad. all other x4s have been discontinued. this is your only option then x6 1045 2.7ghz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819106012

imo its not worth 150$ for you, for one its a low clock speed and bf3 would prefer a quad with a higher frequency than a 6 core lower frequency. this would be easy to solve by overclocknig it but i dont see you having much luck with your current board. only 4pin cpu power.

^That CPU won't really be enough, it's only 2.5Ghz...

This 955 is a much better choice and only 95W.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819113007

Or a 960T; chance to unlock to 6 cores plus it overclocks better than the one in ur link.

+1 for the 960T as Pill Monster said

If you're lucky enough and unlock it, you can get performance near to that of an i5 2400 or i5 2500

the GTX 550Ti is good enough for BF3, i play BF3 on my system on everything ultra and i still get reasonable framerates, but then again i play on a 1600x900 resolution

This Cooler Master came with his PC and it looked better + is 650W so without second guessing I swapped it with my Silverstone, which was only 500w!!

Think i should get it back??

^The SS is actually 550W; 500W continuous...and you should never ever judge a PSU just by it's stated wattage, this is exactly how PSU makers screw unsuspecting customers.

But don't panic... the Silent Pro models are good, but tbh the Silverstone Strider is better quality and seems to get excellent reviews.

It's prob not worth losing any sleep over....I was just surprised that's all.

Crap.. thanks for the heads up. I guess I could always make the switch when this PSU starts to become crappy, my brothers room is just down the hallway

hey guys i recently upgrade to my p2 x4 , but somehow im still stuttering, sometimes i can go a full match without stuttering(this was impossible with my p2 x2) but other times the stuttering is unbearable, im guessing it could be one of 2 things, my psu is bottlenecked because of my new p2 x4 or my cpu is running quite hot, with the stock heatsink(the one that came with my p2 x2)

Is there any particular map you're playing on when the stuttering happens...does it only occur in certain situations or is it random?

What are your temps like? Which P2 did you get?

Any reason you didn't get the 960T or 95W 955? Either of those would have been a much better choice.

What's your CPU load when gaming?

my reason shipping, on newegg when ever its in stock it go for 95-100 maybe more, plus the shipping 28$, VS Ebay free shipping, that was my main reason budget.

cpu load is different between each program i use, core temp reports 56-58c, my motherboards software(asrock oc utility) reports about 59+, hw monitor like 50+

Couldn't you find one on eBay? I meant your CPU load in BF3....and 60c is getting a bit warm imo.
