Anyway...
I have a Sager NP8170/Clevo P170HM laptop which I am trying to connect an Asus VG236H 3D monitor. My GPU is the ATI 6990M which should be capable of running 120Hz in 2D. I am not interested in 3D.
However, when I hook up using the monitor supplied Dual Link DVI cable my video card in either the control panel or the Catalyst Center does not show any 120Hz options. The best I am able to select is 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz. The monitor only accepts a 3D signal (hence the 120Hz refresh rate) over the DVI and not the HDMI 1.4 input.
I do not know what I may be missing. Any help with this is appreciated.
-------------------------------------------------
Resolution Refresh Rate
Horizontal Frequency
1680x1050 60Hz 64.674/65.29kHz
1920x1080 60Hz 66.587/67.5kHz
1920x1080* (DVI) 100Hz 113.3 kHz(2D)/113.8KHz(3D)
1920x1080* (DVI) 110Hz 125.1 kHz(2D)/125.7KHz(3D)
1920x1080* (DVI) 120Hz 137.2 kHz(2D/3D)
Note: You must select one of the “*” timings for enabling 3D feature with a compatible NVIDIA-GPU graphics card via Dual-link DVI cable connection.

Does this mean from the monitor manual that my ATI card won't work with my Asus monitor?
