Default A few questions regarding ATT (inc. CCC and latest version) - 03-11-2012, 03:16 | posts: 1 | Location: Earth

Like a few others I also came across ATT in search for a way to speed up map loading times in Battlefield 3.

I was going to do some quick reading (including the FAQ thread and the tweak thread) on the forums before installing but it would be great if someone could look into the following questions:

1. Referring to #2 in forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=357254, users shouldn't use ATT with CCC install. Could someone else confirm this please? Does ATT serve as a replacement for CCC?

To keep things safe I've uninstalled CCC and Hydravision (the latter as well coz I don't use it). I assume that I need to keep my other drivers for ATT to function, correct?

2. Where can I find out what the latest version of ATT is? I know in the FAQ thread somewhere it says "see above" for the latest version, but all I could find were links for the beta...

Will http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733 always return me the latest version of ATT?

**EDIT: Apparently the latest build can be found in this thread, but the OP was last edited in 2010: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=320467

3. I don't play with overclocking as I'm not really familiar with that stuff and would rather have a display card with a longer life span, so when ATT asks me about the "ATI Hotkey Poller", should I pick yes or no?

Thanks guys, any comments appreciated.

1) No need to uninstall CCC, it contains many features not in ATT, like video adjustments color saturation etc etc.

Leave it installed, then make any adjustments to settings, then just stop it from running from startup is the best bet.

2) Latest version is in the beta thread, or search on google.

3) The Hotkey poller is nothing to do with Overclocking, its for 'hotkeys'
Eg shortcuts.

But basically ATT is a dead tool sadly, the developer doesnt have time due to real life to update it.
In its heyday it was the best.
RadeonPro is an alternative, but that has gone the same way.

PS there is no setting in ATT that will make the blindest bit of difference to BF3 load times.
Yes there is the MT support setting, but if it actually does anything is anyones guess.

An fast system, plenty of Ram and an SSD will make a difference though !!!!
