Would it be possible to force clock and voltage settings, so the driver can't override them?

There's a large group of us that are having trouble with the machine throttling under heavy load and setting the card back to 680 @ 1.10v, even though it was at a lower voltage setting like (700 @ 1.00v) to begin with. Other than that, the program works perfectly.

I can't figure this one out. I set up a 2D/3D overclock profile and when I enter a game it enables that overclock correctly. Now, when I play Alien vs. Predator (2010) and I get a slow down I can see the graphic card's gpu and memory being overclocked even further, resulting in a crash and requiring a hard boot. I see it overclocking via the ATI Tray Tools OSD.

I've tried disabling 2D/3D overclocking, set up the overclock on the game profile, disabled the overclock parameters, lowered the overclock parameters to 0% and ATI Tray Tools still overclocks the card within the game.

I apply my overclock, exit ATI Tray Tools, start GPUz to see if the overclock remains, start AVP 2010 and everything runs perfectly. What is ATI Tray Tools doing and how can I tell it not to overclock within a game?

This is in Win XP, ATI HD 4670 agp 1gb, AMD Opteron 185 using ATI Tray Tools version 1.7.9.1573.

Thanks everyone in advance.

Why have you abandon Att, Ray. It's the only tool that allows me to overclock on laptops. And what's up with this error message, (ATIPDLXX). Cheers.

He hasn't abandoned it, there's a post from last month. Considering it's not a full time job, it's impressive that we've gotten the updates we have.

Why are these kind of questions polluting something called "ATT last builds discussions"

Since the beginning of time there was a tool called Ati Tray Tools, and in there was section called Hardware and it contained member called Overclocking Settings which allowed _TheEndAbuser_ to fiddle with his gizmos to pervertly satisfy his needs. So when _TheEndAbuser_ couldnt be satisfied by the ultimate tool he goes wiping to this thread to ask how to twiddle with its GPU so some 5th party lameapp shouldnt do what he dislikes.

Maybe you won't believe, but it's easy. ATT's magic allows you to hard limit your GPU to the frequencies and voltages you approves to be worthy and not to stuck with the ones generic PowerPlay scheme serves you.

Because I'm using the latest build. It's not that hard to understand.

Pointless waste of bytes.

Pointless waste of bytes. Take care.
And by the way, no, Adobe Flash plugin actually triggers that UVD frequency even if ATT is running and is properly configured, and even when you close that_random_Flash_webpage, the frequency will be stuck at 500/600. I've never seen such behaviour.
This, together with other bugs afflicting Adobe Flash GPU acceleration (especially on Youtube videos), made me disable it.

Also after crashing of my HDDs I lost last build sources 1573, but found 1571. So now I have to find what I did for 1573 version and redo it before trying to make additional changes.
Can anyone remember what was changed for 1573 build?

Hello, Ray, nice to see you back.
I have a HD 7870, win7 64bit and Catalyst 12.4 OpenCL 1.2.
Your ATT is my favorite tool since many years and the last version 1573 works good with my old HD 6870,
but now, with the 7870, i start ATT and my pc freeze.
If you want, i will help to check the next ATT-versions, but my english is very bad.

Hi!

If is use FXAA in "Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines" game, and ATT is running, this game is crashed at the begining.

If I set "Disable OSD support" checkbox or disable this game profiles, nothing change. "Disable OSD support" is help for other games with SMAA, but no OSD...

With MSI afterburner, no crashed, and if I set "Enable compatibility with modified Direct3D runtime libraries" checkbox, then this game is run with OSD support.

Thanks.
