Help on overclocking Intel i7 930 -

Hello guys.
I'm new at the overclocking scene and I would really like some help on it.
I found this thread:
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=318089
And I tried to follow it a bit.
This is my specifications:
Processor: Intel i7 930 (2.8GHz)
Videocard: ATI Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition (2GB)
RAM: Corsair XMS3 1333 MHz (12 GB)
Processor: Intel core i7 930
Mainboard: asus p6t se
PSU: 850 W
- I'm not sure on the name and model, I just know it's 850 W.
I'd like to hit at least 3,4 Ghz on my CPU, I tried doing something myself but I'm really new at it, it's the first time I ever have something to do with overclocking, so I've just been browsing forums, guides etc. to find something.
I really look forward to some replies on this, and if you need any other information let me know.

First things you need for OCing:
Good CPU cooler (as in, better than the stock intel one).
Good airflow (as in, a few 12 cm fans at least sucking the hot air from near your CPU).
Second things, some programs for testing:
CPUz (for verifying clock speeds)
Coretemp (for measuring CPU temperatures, keep load temps under 70).
Prime95 (for stress testing to see if OC is stable.
Then, find a good guide which explains the process:
http://www.techreaction.net/2010/09/...-and-gulftown/
I used that one, very helpful.
I find it useful to turn hyperthreading off as this just generates excess needless heat for gaming.
Hope that helps for starters, use Blend mode on P95 for stress testing as this burns both CPU and RAM.

I already gt a new cooler, it's a Zalman CNPS 10x performa 120mm, it also supports dual fan.
I have CPU-Z and Core Temp, but I'm using Hyper PI for the stress test, I will download Prime 95 as well.
The thing is, I'm basically a noob at overclocking, I'm not sure what I'm doing, I'm just reading a bunch of stuff and trying a few things as well.
- I can live stream it from my laptop if anyone is interested in live chat supporting me with it.

I've followed the link you gave me and saw that he recommended to update my motherboard to the newest one I can get.

I don't know which one I should chose in the BIOS list.
I'm using Windows Ultimate 64 bit.

If there's nothing wrong with your current BIOS, leave it as it is.

I don't know if it is as it should be. Should I update to the newest driver?

As the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". You should be fine. The simplest thing you can do is just try upping the QPI bclock a little, say from 133 to 137, and try that as a very small OC to get you started, then follow the instructions in the guide I posted to get further. Be warned, though. Once you start OCing, you get hooked.
