You have an e: drive in your bios? How are your drives setup in bios? SATA, AHCI, whatever?

Have you formatted the sdd, from what you say, i take it may not have.
(we have all made that mistake before)
control panel-administrative tools-computer management-disk management-choose drive e right click it and format it (ntfs).
NOW.....
You should be able to set the computer to boot to the ssd and load windows.
BTW, make you life easier and only hook up the ssd when load the OS.
After it is loaded and stable, you can add other hard drives...

Update on my thread, since most never return to say what happened...........
Drive was dead, and am now on new ssd drive (damn, why didnt I do this sooner, this rig is on FIRE, 10 seconds from power button to clickable icon!!)
Thanks for the advice of disconnecting other drives while installing windows.....was having issues till I remebered that...............
Odly enough, windows never asked me to install a previous version to check for upgrade..............but I did have to call microsoft to activate which was no big deal when I told them that I was just movin my OS from one drive to another.........
And to all those that are sceptical and are waiting to see "how it goes for others".....dont wait..............SSD is the bomb!!!!
