Did I make a good purchase? GTX460 -

I bought this card for $85 shipped, no tax:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121390
I replaced an HD 3850 256MB card. How much of an upgrade is it?
I have it overclocked using afterburner to:
voltage: 1025
Core Clock: 858
Shader Clock: 1716
Memory Clock: 2190
It is idling at 37 degrees Celsius. Can i push it any harder? Thanks!

Sounds good to me. HD3850 was pretty weak even when it was launched (perf lower than 8800GS if im not mistaken).
I'd say its a pretty big upgrade. More than when i upgraded from a GT8600 to a HD5770 i guess.

You've got yourself a very good card there bro'
Lets say that the 3850 is 0% and the GTX 460 is 100%
The difference is about 80-90% faster/better when compared to the 3850 (Gaming wise)
However, you might want to look into upgrading your processor in the near future. I'm not too sure how good your processor is since I'm only really familliar with the Phenom II series (But from what I can see it's a 1st gen quad?)
I'm not sure if this'll bottleneck you or not, hopefully someone else can clear that up for you.

It's a great card. The price is amazing. You might want to get two if you can get another for $85, because that is ridiculously low.
The only way to know if you can push it harder is to go for it. Just take it slow and do everything in increments. Each card has different limitations. Some can be pushed to hell and back, and some will die from being pushed a bit too far. Those do well in SLI so I would just add another instead of OC'ing it any more.

Good card, the 1GB 256bit model is the better card overall for the GTX460 but still good upgrade for you!

Asus had a $30 MIR which brought it to $109.99. Newegg had $25 off $100 coupon code for new customers.
$139.99 - $25.00 instant - $30.00 MIR = $84.99

yeah, the price went up and the $25/off was a 1-day thing. Plus, my other x16 slot has an Asus U3S6 card in it.
I'm not a hardcore gamer. I actually had to stop playing portal 2 after 30 minutes cuz i was gonna puke

Do the first gen quad's (The Phenom I's) have the TLB problem?
Cause I know there was a problem with the Phenom II's with the TLB

No. The TLB erratum was a Phenom I problem only (that wasn't even significant). Phenom II had no such bug

Excellent card man. I had a PNY GTX460 OC 1GB for a little while - fantastic card.
You have the same core in yours. They run quiet, cool, and damn fast. Mine would OC to about 880Mhz on stock cooling for a decent gaming session(BC2 etc), and over 900Mhz for benching runs.
Enjoy it!
