I want to change the COLOR of background of folders and firefox but how? White hurts!

U know , folders r white, using firefox and background is white, i mean a blak page.. how can i change them to something more warm?

the easyest thing would be to change ur theme to something i have, i have dark backgrounds, i hate white..
and for the Firefox there is an addon called stylish, with it u can transform every ssite to a dark one..

heres a pic of mine:



I have it transparent right now, but u can also just have it dark...

u will need to patch ur windows first to use those themes, but tahts nothing big, takes 1 sec. and one klick...the themes dont have an impact on performance at all...

if u need help or anything to know just ask me, i try to help u and will give u some links u need to make it happen..

1. Download the Patcher. (Universal Theme Patcher (v1.5, Build 20090409) )

(dont know about SP1 now, but heres a link to infos about sp1 and download:

patch ur windows 7..run as admin...
take the x86 for 32bit systems and the x64 for 64bit systems.

after that u need an reboot..

There u look for an style that fits u..
if u found one download it..

mostly there are more files in the package then u need..i just explain the easy way here, not all the bling bling

ok extract the package..
then it should look like this here:



there u go in the Theme Folder:



mark those 2 files, these are the important one..u need to copie them to C:\windows\reources\Themes

after this u should see the theme listed here:



there u can select it and apply...there it is, u have a new theme..

Of course u can edit even more, change the start orb on the startmenue, change forward and back buttons, taskmanager style/colors and so on, but thats an different story and for users they do know a lot more....As i said, its all covered @ Virtual Customs....


WARNING..For users with an creative soundcard, DONT ever change or edit the shell32.dll...or cmss3d wont work anymore...i know sounds stupid but it is like that, we didnt found a cure for it till now...

But u only would edit the shell32.dll to change some pictures and icons in ur windows 7...



Anyway...The best part is, u dont need any tools or programs running like windowblinds and stuff...its the safest and performance wise best way to style ur windows 7..Thats my Opinion...

and search for a site or style or whatever...u can istall it right from the site..

now, this is the Global dark style..

its global so it means it is for all sites...play around with it..

there also a lot of cool ones for youtube, google, etc etc...

u can also modify those by urself..its not this easy..its all text as u will see when u explore this stylish addon...

for the themes and windows u need a tool called BlackGlassEnhanced 0.5? or something like this.

it runs in the background, but its so little in memory footprint it wont hurt..

there u can add up to 10 applications and they will be transparent then..ATTENTION. this transparent works best on dark themes, like mine..

u need to test it and find the right one, but there are more and more Trans / drak themes coming, cause they are cool..

hmm, i guess @ virtual customs u just have to wait a lil..or resend it..

there are mostly 2 spots to watch out for..marked red here...

But i would prefeer Virtual customs...

I have 64 bit also , and most themes work...Just use the Theme Files like i showed in the TUT..Then it should work..

if u want i can make a list of the Themes i have installed..so then u know wich ones run on 64 bit...
