Default New Flat Screen Monitor??? - 11-13-2010, 01:22 | posts: 184 | Location: Fremont,Ca.

Questions, where to start 1st after plugging in my new View Sonic .
VX2450wm-LED
Full HD Widescreen LCD says on the Box. 24" 23.6 diagonally
This my 1st Flat screen for the PC I have a 8800 GT OC 512MB GPU DVI-VGA on the card.
I have not opened box yet, starting to worry after when you buy new stuff and starting thinking of stuff.
Like my old SONY CTR I can fill the screen full depending on the Resolution on playing games by the control buttons bottom of CRT. That's one worry I have, how games will look on ne flat screen, will they fill the screen? Don't know yet still in Box.
Wife wants to go to the show tonight and me too, we will see "Unstoppable Movie"
I will be using the DVI of my GPU for sure.
I read some where about Text reading on flat screen set up, Clear Text, or something like that it called?
That's all can think of unless I left any thing out let me know. Thanks whole lots.
Well any way off to the Show.
Ron

I just got a Benq VW2420H, its a 24 inch Led Back light Screen with VA panel, Im Very happy with the Colours and the Contrast its purely amazing, I will never get a TN any more.

I get no Banding, Colour Shifting, grey blacks, and other typical stuff from TN's

This screen has an awesome view angle and the colour reproduction is True 8 bit, not like 6 bit + Dithering from TN panels. Right now, I can really see the details, and the differences in colours, Its like if i was colour blind before when i used a TN panel.

You can run games or windows at any resolution your monitor accepts and, depending on the setting of the monitor, it will scale the image full screen or just display it windowed 1:1 or keep the aspect ration with black bars on the side, etc.

Windows has ClearType to help with font aliasing. Just run that setup wizard in Windows so your text looks good.

Hi, made final adjustments today. Did the Clear Type already, had to tone down the brightness, and Contrast. Also had to enlarge fonts on desktop, internet, and email.
I'm good to go, all looking good.
Flat screen motion just a tab slow it's a 5ms, colors are great. XP did it all. Thanks

Wow, Bought the View Sonic VX2450wm few days ago $219.99 Fry's
Office Depot selling retail 199.99, plus 10.00 off.
Fry's price matched it, gave me 32.78 back in my hand of 219.99, what a deal.
It helps to check price before and after buying stuff today.

uhh, pretty much all LCD displays have a 5ms response time for black to black. the 2ms is grey to grey (its faster to go from half colour to half colour).
