That's what spurned the thread for me. Some artists use software that turns pictures into sounds and use those sounds in the music to embed hidden "things" in the songs. Sorta like these...

DJ Sonix image from Transitions album

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker (self portrait)

"Spiral" at end of first song on Windowlicker from Aphex Twin

Nine Inch Nails - My Violent Heart ("Presence" image)

Venetian Snares - Songs About My Cats

A Youtube of a song with a bunch of weird images in it that sounds spooky and eerie.

But each person has their own definition of what the thread title means. But the thread is everyones and it's cool to see what others define as wild, weird, etc. I'm getting some new angles!

It's a great album, too bad it took them 8 years to get a 2nd one out, as it isn't near as good, imo. As of late I've been digging a few artists that started local to my area. To the likes of:

Warrel Dane/Nevermore
Alice In Chains/Jerry Cantrell

Haha, nvl, your stuff sounds like the stuff I'm describing.
Dood!!! That 3rd song, (Merzbow - I'm coming to the garden..... no sound, no memory) at about 48 seconds I saw what looked to be little cartoon dog faces around 1khz. They re-occur after that. Merzbow is some pretty spooky stuff indeed!

I'm simply capturing the sound from my card using Audacity, saving as a .wav, then scanning the file with Spectrogram using the logarithmic setting. You'd be surprised what "seeing" sounds reveals about some of the stuff out there.

Ahoy! If that's what you really meant as "wild", not just the wild old school rock jam, then i have some serious sh*t to contribute to this thread aside from NiN (which I'm still very fond of)! I am a devoted Sunn O))) fan, have simply everything they've ever released, including demos and limited edition vinyls... This is definitely the most eerie and evil chaotic band of all times since their compositions are openly religious or mystical-themed. Drone Doom - it says it all. Merzbow project is their predecessor, hehe. Any of their out-of-this world compositions will simply give you a panic attack when you're stoned and alone in your house at night with the lights off Pretty much everything they do is tend to hurt human ear, there are just some few compositions from them

Báthory Erzsébet, My Wall, Oracle. I highly recommend you to get FLAC versions of their tracks somewhere.

Gosh you folks are awesome here! Thanks Indeo and Hunter and the rest of you. Congrats Phatkat as well! Yeah, the real ethereal airy ambient horrorific sounding stuff what was meant as the the main. But, as far as "wild-crazy" goes, I have to hand the bag to G.G. Allin stuff. That dude definitely had something wrong going on inside!

G.G. Allin.... example of "Wild" in my book

Thank you!

Yeah, and dammit, there's so much more I want.

Ever walk into a music store, mental shopping list ready to go, and as soon as you get inside, the list melts and runs down the crack of your ass? Happens to me all the time, I can never remember what I went in for.

Assembler code rocks. Put an old C64 game into your car cassetteplayer, up the volume and drive around with your windows open - never gained so much attention so easily.

I always think the technicallity of gore grind bands are ruined by the pig vocals. Waking The Cadaver, Cattle Decapitation and the like are all the same.

Cannibal Corpse, on the other hand, are ****ing awesome!

dont listen to any goregrind really. they never turn out much in the way of composition. all three of those tracks are straight death metal. extreme dm yes but still dm. i agree that the frog in a toilet vox gurgles arent very exciting though, wormed especially is hard to listen to. thats why i posted it ill have to disagree about cannibal corpse though, they got more competent with their later material but its still rudimentary imo. though hammer smashed face is an okay song!

I'm going to see Jungle Rot in about an hour now by the way that grind-core/chug-core type stuff is mentioned. If you are into that, might wanna check them out. Psychotic Creamation is prolly my favorite of theirs. Gonna be a badass show!
