Exclamation Sapphire HD5770 CrossfireX Problems - 05-31-2010, 11:10 | posts: 6 | Location: New Zealand

Hi I've had this computer for a while now and haven't been able to get crossfireX working properly. when i run a benchmark the primary card shows like between 96-99% activity in Catalyst control center and the slave card is showing 0% activity, 0˚C Temp, 20% Fan speed and the GPU and Memory clock rates at 000MHz attachments show what i mean(GPU1.png = Primary Card)
I switched cards to check that both are working properly and they are crossfireX just isnt working
so i was wondering how i get crossfireX working

Check my mail thread for more information on how to check whether crossfirex setup is correct or not. [Saphire toxic 5870 2GB CrossfireX scaling issue]

Some questions:
1. How have you connected the two cards ?
2. Does your motherboard PCI Express slots are configured correctly in the BIOS? (none is disabled ?)
3. What does GPUZ shows in crossfirex field ?
4. Use MSI Kombuster Multi gpu version and try loading both cards.
5. Try running with only one card which is showing 0 gpu clock and 0 mem clock.

FYI:
In 10.5 I found a weird issue, when both cards are connected, just uncheck the CrossfireX option in CCC, and enable it again, baam!! The display color is dull. So I went back to 10.4.

Make sure the crossfire bridge is installed.
Make sure crossfire is enabled
Make sure catalyst AI is set to standard or advanced (and disable is not checked)
Disable ULPS via registry.

And test to make sure each card works on its own.

1 by a single crossfire connector
2 i cant find PCI options in bios
3 enabled
4 when i use MSI Kombuster and do a benchmark it uses both gpu's(they show 90% usage) but when i benchmark with another program it only uses 1 gpu
5 done that card works fine

the second gpu is showing 157MHz core clock and 300MHz Memory Clock now but still no increase in activity when using anything except MSI Kombuster

Cat 10.5 disabled my Crossfire in Anno 1404. Only GPU2 is working, GPU1 is completly DEAD. So from my side you should go with 10.4 and redo everything again as 10.5 S.U.C.K.S hard.
