How to properly use AfterBurner? -

Hi all,
I have MSI 8800GT 523MB. I need to keep it constantly underclocked.
Approximately a year ago I installed RivaTurner, which successfully did it. Recently I noticed that I have not only RivaTurner as a clocking tool, but also a MSI Clock + MSI Vivid + MSI somethingelse bunch (available as extra tabs in desktop properties). I guess they've been there for all that time, but I'm not sure.
Now I'm confused. I don't really need two tools for controlling frequency. I even don't know how they interact with each other. So I decided to install AfterBurner, which seems to be the perfect solution: it's approved by MSI, it (hopefully) combines the power and reliability of RivaTurner (which seems not to be under development now?) and MSI utilities.
Now the questions are:
1. Is AfterBurner enough to replace MSI utilities and RivaTurner? Is it updated regularly as new drivers appear? Mostly I need it to control processor and memory frequency, other features are not really necessary (though look appealing).
2. Does it work with common drivers downloaded from nvidia.com, not from msi site? Or is it for MSI developed drivers only?
3. How the hell to uninstall MSI Vivid etc before installing AfterBurner? I just found info about deleting files manunally from system32, which seems somewhat weird. Is there a more civilized way?
Or, maybe I shouldn't bother about that? Just uninstall RivaTurner and use MSI Clock + Vivid + ... utility to keep my card underclocked?
Thanx in advance.
