Default Help me choose CPU - 01-15-2010, 01:06 | posts: 72 | Location: Florida

I want to throw a new cpu in my Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 AM2 board now as it supports some AM3's now. I plan on buying a new board when the ones with new 890 chipsets come out in a couple of months I plan to eventually run 2 HD5770's. I just want a budget one for now in about 1 yr and will get a top of the line one then. I presently have a Athlon dual core 6000 3ghz. I want one I will notice a difference in for now and when I buy a new board wont have to buy CPU at the same time. Heres my choices AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1 GHz BE $99.00 this is the one I have been favoring as easily OC and possibly unlocking 1 or 2 cores with a new board. AMD Athlon II X4 630 Propus 2.8GHz $112.99 good bargain. Or AMD Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz $140.00 don't really want to spend that much unless it's far superior as I will probably spend $200 or more next time. Computer is mainly games and Internet. I'm not a super hardcore gamer but play my fair share. thanks for any advice.
