Cool [Core i7 920] Overclocking to 4.0GHz help. - 11-08-2009, 05:49 | posts: 24 | User is Offline

Can someone please simply explain how to properly OC an i7 920 C0 to 4.0GHz?

Here's my spec's

[RAM] OCZ 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)

[Motherboard] ASUS P6T
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131359

It seems like all the tutorial video's on the net try to over complicate OC'ing the i7.

Thanks

PS: I have a Prolimatech Megahalems cooler with a 120MM Yate Loon 1200RPM fan..

well i have a P6T just like you but 9-9-9-24 ddr3 1333 ram and a d0 i7.

My method is probably not the greatest but what i did was

put the BLCK to 191, have turbo on, changed the voltage to 1.218something and took HT off (my cpu cooler isnt great)

you could also put the BLCK to 200 and have turbo off if your system likes that better.

try to get the ram as closest you can to your original speeds when you change the BLCK and you should be set (or atleast thats my method)
