I have been given a friends Advent 4489 Netbook to look at as he had some problems, little did I realise that the Bootmgr was missing. Being a netbook and no CD/DVD drive and him losing the backup usb stick I am at a loss.
I have never dabbled with a netbook before and will probably never again but I want to ask a few things if I may. 1. Can I just do a clean install of Win XP Pro from a USB Stick I have here? Is this easy enough to do? 2.Does this type of Netbook require a certain type of usb stick and what format should I use? 3.Looking at the TechGuys website it had suggested using something called USB Drive recovery tool but I cannot seem to get this to work. Has anyone else got an inkling as to why it wont work? Many thanks! |
