Corsair H50 CPU cooler review [Guru3D.com] -

The collaboration of Asetek and Corsair resulted in a product called the Hydro Series H50 a liquid CPU cooler. A simple to install all-in-one kit that has good looks decent performance is not noisy......

Hmm, I'm actually pretty tempted, that's pretty good performance for that price... The airflow issue really concerns me though, I could just flip the fan around but that wouldn't give me the same performance I'm assuming. I could maybe put it in the front as one of the intake fans, as long as it's not blowing on my graphics cards I think I've got good enough airflow to compensate for the extra hot air. Very tempting...

This thing would be great for my low profile system. I thought i7 920 is not heating so much but then i really hit the problem with it. Only air cooler that fits on it is Big Shuriken from Scythe. And thats just not enough. I think that H50 could fit in a 10cm space between CPU and PSU. Just not sure where could i place the radiator. No 120mm spots to place it there.
Performance is basically the same as with TRUE so that would be great.

Important fact: Corsair requires you to have the fan blow cold air inwards. Now that changes the entire thermodynamic system for nearly any current chassis in existence as the location for a fan right there is always to exhaust hot air coming from the CPU, chokes and voltage regulators.
So if you purchase this product, you'll need to be creative... flip around another fan. Example; the top fan, or side panel fan. The higher the better as heat travels upwards.

Would it not be doable to put the rad and fan on the outside of the case like some kits? Maybe the fan on the inside with the rad on the outside, so you can still have the fan blowing out the back through the rad?

might be tricky to do, as from what I gathered the kit comes assembled and filled, which means there's likely not an easy way to disconnect the tubes, so you'd have to have a hole big enough to fit the whole cpu block/pump thing though.
Also the screws might be a problem, not that they already aren't it seems

I think that problem with these easy to install watercooling kits is that 120*120mm rad. Good heatsinks have 120*120mm fan blowing to heatsink and that's why they perform about the same.
Would be good to see those kits with bigger rad, but then it would be hard to install it...

Wow, that's a great cooler! Outperforms the Coolit Domino ALC! Awesome! When can I get one?
I'd mount another fan on the other side of the radiator, though. That way it can suck and blow at the same time! (Just Kidding, that's an old Wayne's World joke! )

I wonder if it performs better if we sandwich 2 fans blowing outwards to the case instead of sucking hotair ( from the PSU ) back to the case.

Well yeah but I thought the idea was that the rad needs cold air from outside rather than warm/hot air from inside your case to perform this well. Maybe the increased airflow from a second fan would be enough to compensate though, I dunno

yup, I see it has mounting screw holes for a second fan, so why not have a push pull set up, cant hurt and fixes the whole sucking hot air in from the back problem.

WooHoo another rebranded AseTec LCLC 120. The trick to getting the most out of these is to configure them in push-pull with 65-100 CFM fans.

€65, US$75, means roughly S$100 for me. Hmm.
Wonder how it'll do with one of CoolerMaster's 90CFM fans.

I don't know about that airflow setup there. Unless you're going for benchmarking (ie max overclock) a few C more in temperature from air inside the case is not going to make a whole lotta difference and so it should be an exhaust fan. I would just pull the fan off and rotate it around.
Other than that it seems like a really good deal. I think I'd still rather go with the Thermalright Extreme air cooler. Never have to worry about leaks or the pump dieing.

Looks very nice.. not sure about the fan reversal thing though.. seems a bit odd to pump the air to the center of your case.
I love how the very inexpensive Core Contact Freezer is still doing so well in
comparison with all those coolers.

I wonder when they're going to start including a bracket for AMD systems so we don't have to pay extra money on top of the $75 it already costs, just to mount it in our system.

You know I wonder if there is going to be an "Extreme" edition with a bigger radiator and wider tubing. Those small ones dont look that effective. It would be better than what I am using, CoolerMaster Hyper212, but honestly not by much. Ill have to pass because my $40 HSF is fine. I imagine people would only get this for bragging rights or a powerful ITX system.

Coolermaster should license the dual-120 radiator version of this and pair it up with their HAF 932. It would be a perfect fit. You'd need longer tubes, but if they had them they could mount it on the top of the case. That would be awesome.
Or better yet, use the tripple-120 radator unit (would would fit the HAF 932, albeit with hlaf of one of the 120's sorta blocked) and then you could liquid-cool your CPU, and two GPUs. Market it as a complete self-contained SLI/Crossfire liquid cooling solution.

Is there anything similar, just with radiator with 80mm fan (meaning its also smaller) and if any info how it performs? I'd need something like this, just with slightly smaller radiator for heat dissipation.

I was looking at this as a replacement for my OCZ Vendetta (Gen 1)
I have the Antec Nine Hundred Two
I wonder how it would fit? Ayone know if there would be any troubles?
Also, I wonder how a better thermal compound would work?
