I still think those were one of the best aftermarket cooler designs. I've got mine laying around in case I ever need to mod something and make it very cool.

Yeah I still got that and a zalman vf-700 laying around in a box, I had the leadtek 6800GT with the huge copper heatsink, but out of all three the zalman was the quietest and slightly better at cooling than the leadtek copper heatsink.

I've been thinking about mod the cooler of my 6800 GT for a long time, but I just love the reference cooler on it

Here is a picture of the front. It's strange.. it has a dual slot interface, yet there are only two DVI ports and no video out. I still don't know if it's a 6800 vanilla, 6800GT, 6800 Ultra PCI-E

Kinda hard to tell from that shot.

From rough memory I believe the 6800 Ultra had 2 Molex connectors, the GT had one, and the 6800 NU had one or none (at least for AGP).

the double wide was found on the ultra ...mostly,i'm sure it may have made its way on others such as the 68gs?they also sold it aftermarket as a kit if you wanted it.

Sorry for the crappy pictures...

This is still my current rig, used to be a Leadtek cooler like the one above, but I put a Maze 5 cooler on it instead. No volt mods or anything crazy, just some good overclockin.

Thanks

Yeah, there was so much copper on that block, those had to have been the best stock coolers of the time. I can't really say I've seen them do much since then, do they even still make cards?

I have had quite a few leadtek graphics cards over the last few years (8800gts, 8800 gtx, gtx 280..) and they have all been great cards, solid overclockers too.

I was planning to upload this picture with the other one.. I think my PC crashed right before I was about to, and then I just forgot about it.

I'm still stuck with my 6800GT because I need cash for a completely new high end system, and until now only STALKER: Clear Sky seems unplayable because of stuttering framerates.
My 6800GT's performance is slightly better than my mum's 8600M GT in her notebook.
A bunch of XBOX ports should run fine on the 6800GT but won't start because of my AthlonXP. They need SSE2...
