On the topic of 9.1... Does anyone know whether or not they will release a Windows 7 version (wddm 1.1) of the driver at the same time?

I just hope that Catalyst Control Center will install for me with the next Windows 7 x64 driver...

If they don't, then Vista drivers will probably work. 8.12 Vista drivers work without a problem for me.

But I did find something about 9.1. They're not out like AMD tells us they are!!!!! >=[ Oh well, I can wait.

i dont know if this will fix your problem m8 but i read on the ati forums the following Update the X86 and or X64 versions of the C++ 2005 redistributable

This will resolve some problems with the Vista driver installer for the Catalyst drivers

maybe worth a try for w7 ive added a link and hope it helps you out

i finally go hold of 9.1s..but they are nothing to get all worked up about...i loose +200fps in ATItools 3d view..the opengl demos in GPU caps viewer seem to run a bit slower aswell. The soft shadows also look quite bad compaired to 8.12s.

And im still getting "Display driver atikmdag stopped responding and has successfully recovered." after a few minutes in game, whenever AA is enabled.. (mainly in Mirrors Edge, but happens in most other games when AA is enabled)

it back to nvidia again next time...ATI have had their chance and compleately blew it
