Dont dl it, theres a file called "nvprfctr.ini" missing. I downloaded it twice and the file doesnt exist in the folder.

Thats why u get an error when installing the driver.

I tried both the one from *******video or smth and the one from guru.

I was downloading xp32 btw.

Alright exactly what I thought mate. It is not included in the package thats it.

Do they freaking even test those drivers before uploading them?

Nuke this **** guys, now even Guru got unfortunately into this fiasco, while I understand its not their fault.

I am getting the error of the missing file as well. Really weird that the driver doesn't even get tested before being uploaded. Even though still props for the heads up and to guru3d for hosting them.

It's no wonder that no one has posted a benchmark or commented on the driver as of yet. The driver is corrupt, guess we'll have to wait for the file, a fix or a new release of this driver set. I'm going back to the 178.13 modded by side drivers.

Ok People, "Thinking outside of the box", after finding there are not one but 2 missing files nvprfctr.ini & nvprfsmb.h. "neither do I recognize"., I unpacked the 178.13 driver, searched the contents to find "neither of these files are located in that driver either...

I did complete the install, When the error occurs, "click cancel" it will ask you if you wish to continue without that file, click "yes", after that you may find yet another file that gives the same error, "do the same as posted above", reboot your machine & the driver will have installed correctly....

DV Does appear to be 100% fixed for XP 64 bit at any rate....

(Although this did work for me, I am not recommending others to do the same at least not per my word, so if you do it & something doesn't work out, don't blame me

If you wish to hold off I am now going to run this thing through the ringer, I will post my results shortly....

******UPDATE******

After doing a few basic tests, I can see that "for my config" there is no gain "other than it would appear DV is in fact working correctly for XP64".

Issues I have had since the 177.92+ drivers with BF2142 have not been resolved, same exact issues remain "However any driver 177.92 OR LOWER works perfectly.. 3dMark 06, without posting numbers was considerably lower than that of the 177.92 tests... Im not waisting my time on this driver... lol...

In short, Back to 177.92 for me until they get their "stuff" together lol....

These are instrumented drivers (badly) ripped from PerfKit 6.1. If you got 178.13 its save to skip them. However, here are the missing files:
