Low price, Great Performance

Hey all i would just like to share some information if i may.

I went out about a month ago and reluctantly bought a new laptop for ALDI.

Before you say anything let me just start by saying dont judge on where it is sold. i bought this computer the Medion MD96340 and i will tell you i am impressed. My specs are posted to the left.

Now what i would like to say is that this laptop is very fast, faster than my old desktop that i sold for some extra cash (A64 3200+, 1gb ddr DC, 6800 XXX, nf41 SLI board....) i can run all the programs needed for my class such as multisim, ultiboard, autocad 07, and anything else that is a resource hog, it handles great.

The wireless card is exceptional, it could probably pull a wireless connection out of the middle of the desert, it is great i have yet to find a place that i cannot find a connection (Granted most are secured).

The on board audio is exceptional also, with a digital interface it is nice, when i hook external speakers up to it, it is amazing how loud it can be, much more than my old desktop. the onboard speakers are about average and are loud enough for normal use.

The only down fall that i can really speak of is the graphics, if you are a hardcore gamer, dont buy it, because it has only a GeForce 6150GO and it cannot be upgraded and it very slow, but offers an s-video output to hook up the tv.

Other cool things on it is that the mouse pad on it, you can touch the corner and you have access to a pause/play, volume, and random program functions. and the outside has nice gloss finish.


all in all i am very impressed with the performance of this computer for its price, 599.00USD and is available only at certain times in the US. i am very happy with it except for the graphics issue, but in the future i will have a new desktop for gaming.
