hey guys i am if you guys take a look at the case mod section you will see my dad and his new parts, the reason why i am writing is becuase my dads new "Windsor 4600+ X2" is overheating which is extremeley wierd it has stock HSF but the fan is going at 3500 RPM and the idle is at 40 C without COOL N' Quiet" it goes to to 36 with it on i have tried changing it to a differnt HSF a thicker one (from my 3500 +) it didnt help i plan on buying a new AC pro fan from newegg but do you guys know why a A64 is overheating? PLEASE HELP

40c isn't overheating, overheating is about 65c +.

Yeah with a retail HSF the CPU idles around the 40 mark and when under load will easily reach the 50's

ok then i just never thought that A64 processor would get that hot at idle but my dad just said it wen down to 33 c on idle but i am pretty sure it is because of the Cool n Quiet' i will keep you guys posted but thanks again that is a big relief

idle temperatures don't mean much. it is the load temp that is important. how does that look?

well he said that it loads at 53C and that was when he was done playing halo, which is weird because my 3500 + i had did even go above 32 on load and my new core 2 its load is at 35 on load so i am extremely wierded out?

my 4600 idles at about 32c & on load goes to about 48c
