my colleague is (still) waxing 2K on a laptop

the two gfx card options are a 7950gtx or a quadro 2500

i know that the quadros are for 'real work' -we use them in our office, but could someone give me the lowdown on each and which one is better for everyday stuff/gaming +occaisional 3d modelling
