Default 32bit to 16bit PCMCIA COMPATIBLE ? - 06-02-2006, 11:11 | posts: 34 | Location: RO/SV

A friend of mine has an old Pentium 166 laptop with 16bit capable PCMIA.
He wants to try out a 32 BIT PCMCIA NIC on it. It does not fit offcourse, but just because of different small key dent. He can make the adjustament to make it fit into the slot but the question is, will it work ? What difference is there between the 16 bit & 32 bit PCMIA besides the obvious 16 bit difference. Any voltage changes ? pinouts ? Any ideas, does anyone has any experience with this ?
