Will a NVstrapped 6600 (or 6600GT) AGP perform as a similar Quadro, in all applications that don't deliberatly check ID?
Probably yes, but i guarantee nothing - NVIDIA may introduce driver changes that will disable pro caps if the PCI-ID is not a Quadro...

My advice to you is this: If you are stuck on AGP, try swapping the 6600 for a 6800LE... those cards perform great with pro caps and NVSTRAP to Quadro.

Thanks for the info, AlecRyben. This is for an AGP machine that I don't want to totally overhaul, yet.

Thinking I may just go X700 or X800 and mod to FireGL to avoid all the Nvidia hassle.

Anyone have experience with that? It's supposed to be easy, works well, and with no protection right?
