Got Windows XP. Course I put together another computer to make it run. Woohoo!!! Now I got more fans then I know what to do with!!!!

I went with wife to get a cd burner and an OEM vers of XP. Ended up getting everything I needed to put together another machine!!! Here is what I put together...

-KG7-Raid MB
-AMD 1.4 (266 FBS) overclocked to 1.533G !!!
-425W P/S
-7000 RPM Global Win CPU Cooler w/ copper heatsink (it is keeping that overclocked T-bird at 48C!!!)
-2 intake cooling fans
-7000 rpm exhaust fan
-Pair of 20G 7200 RPM W. Digitals
-256M DDRAM
-Geforce2 MX 400 64Mb ram (it came outta old machine! OK OK)
-SBlaster whatever to get sound... hey it works.
-52X CDROM
-DVD/CDROM/CDROM RW
-WINXP Pro (kinda worked a deal on it cause that other version will only install on 1 computer!!??? WTF is up w/ that!)

The other machine went back to a 15" monitor and a Sis 8M AGP card. (oh well I will have to work that one a little! ahem...future server if I can ever get DSL!)

After downloading/flashing BIOS, setting up my raid, and finding the right WINXP driver for my raid I finally got it up and operating.

XP is kinda gimicky, but I gotta say something...WOW!

I d/l Nvidia drivers for it. Installed them. Put tribes on it and updated everything for it. Tribes runs great!!!! I even seem to be getting a better ping!!! It boots quick and seems stable so far.....I am still installing the "stuff" I use at home...so knock on some wood...

Now about some DSL and in home LAN.....

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the open source community for allowing me to help out Jolly Rogers. I can make him not one, but 1001 copies of mandrake 8.1, announce it to the rooftops of the world, email M$ with my ip and exactly what I'm doing and it is perfectly acceptable.

This anti piracy is getting silly. It's like buying jumper cables for a car, but only allowing people to use them on 2 specific cars, a third guy comming down the road would get arrested for getting or giving the boost.
