Default DCHP, Connection Dropping, and Setting IPs - 02-18-2004, 03:27 | posts: 307 | Location: Old Bridge, NJ

Okay, for several games I play, Warcraft3, Starcraft, ect, Some ports need to be opened to create games, i thin k6000-7000, but, in order to do this, I need to turn DCHP off, assign IP's to both my machines, along with everything else... now, the problem is, No matter what i do, Turning DCHP screws up my internet, nothing works, not even 192.168.1.1, it gives me "page not found" error... ever since i screwed around- reset settings to default, i now drop connection occasionally, anyone know a good guide? i couldnt find one

Are you sure you're talking about DHCP or are you talking about DNS? Since the stuff you've mentioned seems to relate to both.

Ah k, I can help you. I had the same type of problem when setting up a static IP.

Do you have you're DNS numbers? Also, how many DNS's do you have?
