how did the softmod work? did it turn your card into a 9500pro successfully? did you get artifacts or checkerboard? how much did your 3dmarks go up by?

Good question, because I'd like to know before I lay down the money for one.

Hi Everybody... today i bought a sapphire 9500 with Black Board and all the RAMs in a line. I modded it with Riva Tuner and it worked so far... Windows shows me a 9700 now... but i´m not sure about the Pipelines because there is no point where you could check it. I overclocked the Card with Rivatuner to 9700Pro settings too.

Now here are my Benchmarks:

9500 in original Shape:

3D Mark 03: 2500 Points

after overclocking and Softmod: 4100 Points and 13000 Points in 3DMark 2001SE

So... can anyone tell me if i have a Radeon 9700pro now or just a 9500pro ?

oh and btw: I´ve got a Athlon XP 2600+ and i get Checkerboards on transparent sprites when i apply the Softmod...
