Question 560ti keeps flickering during video playback - 05-02-2012, 19:27 | posts: 1,413 | Location: London, UK

As the title -

I am using MPC with the K-Lite codec pack.

Any video format I play, either full screen or windowed, the screen goes black for about 1/2 a second ever 2-4 minutes.

The same thing happens even when I watch youtube videos.

Does anybody have an idea of why this happens?

It's bound to be either a codec of splitter clash..

Uninstall the K-lite codec pack completely and download XBMC, it's the best "all file internally supported" player out there..

No need for any filters or codecs..

See if that helps..

Hm, well this happens to me when I let my card constantly upclock and downclock when playing video. But that was because I had the multi-display power saver thing on from Inspector, maybe you have that on too?
If not, I would hate to see this thread turn into everyone suggesting their favorite media player. But seems to be going down that path.

I've never used Inspector. I just ran it to check the setting (perhaps it's on by default?) however I couldn't see such an option.

If it's not on then it's not running.
Did this start after a new driver installation? Did it happen before?

It's a new PC I recently built myself. I was running it with the onboard gpu while waiting for the 560 to arrive, it was fine.

I'll try an older set of drivers when I get a chance.

is the internal gpu disabled in bios and all drivers removed for it ?

could be a conflict somewhere
