Hi guru's.

I'm thinking about hybrid SSD solutions.
On the left a OCZ Revodrive Hybrid. On the Right a Western Digital Velociraptor 1Terabyte.

Anyone care to combine these 2, as in ditching the 1T 5400rpm 2.5" on the SSD card and replacing it with the velociraptor?

I'm curious for the results.

You can work it out.

take this review
http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Storage...CPer-File-Copy
It is compared to X-25 M G2 160GB SSD.
This isnt the fastest SSD, so look up reviews for it to see how it compares to other SSDs.

Alternatively, the new drive is around 25% faster than its predecessor.

It doesnt matter anyway, the Raptor will be annihilated.
check these figures

I figured, but it would be an ideal fast and semi-large capacity driver for 1/3 of the price of an 1TB SSD.

I just use a 2TB drive that cost me £60 for game installs.
Games I'm playing I copy to the SSD.

Well, you see, I have a Steam library... well I don't know how many Gb's in games I have. It's a LOT! All the ARMA series for example.

But this was for curiosity purpose anyway. too bad there is no interest .

If you are looking into a cheap cache solution able to store large amount of data you would be better with getting an OCZ Synapsis Cache 128gb SSD and pairing it with a HDD of your choice.
You also need an Asus U3S6 Sata III controller card in order to get full performance out of it, but these are cheap.
I have done this myself just recently to my old aging PC and it feels brand spanking new.
Guru3d have reviewed this SSD with flying colors
