Hey guys !!!!
I just got my hd 6990 today! , looks great .
btw: And I have my old GTX 465 with me , so can I use it as physx ?
I have read several info about it , it works but to get some advice I posted here.
will physx give an great boost to my hd 6990 ?
will it increase fps in games that uses physx ?
thanks in advance.

gtx 465 would be nice as a physx card. U can find lots of articles in google. I am using 240gt as a physx card and it can handle any games with high physx so ur 465 would be more than enough. But u need a strong psu for feed those 2 gpus.

Ya I have a 1200W psu , I guess it would be enough for it.
does it deliver power as for a nvidia card ? like gtx 590 with gtx 465 as physx will anything bottleneck it if doing this with ati cards?

should be fine. Bear in mind that you will see lower FPS with it installed and physx activated since the 6990 will have more stuff on screen to render. This is normal and doesn't mean the 465 is bottlenecking anything. The FPS should be much higher than if you tried to activate physx with only the 6990 installed.

some games will allow you to force it on, it just runs like crap. Batman Arkham City is one example, although the PhysX in that game brings quite the performance penalty, even with a dedicated GPU.

Right.

My whole point was that while the OP might see his frames drop after installing a dedicated physx card and turning on physx, the numbers should still be much higher than if he forced physx to run on his CPU with only the 6990 installed.
