Question make steam launch from WMC?? - 04-14-2012, 21:00 | posts: 8,411 | Location: Indiana

my friend just got an HTPC to play games on and videos only. He wants to boot up directly into Media Center because all he has and wants to use is his WMC remote to move around in WMC and 360 gamepad for his games

So he wants to know how to make only the WMC launch full screen on bootup and second how to put a Steam launch icon inside of it if possible. I'm not really familiar with wmc

Any idea's? thanks

Well i figured out how to make WMC run as Shell instead of Explorer and he's happy with that. I figured out how to get applications registered. However i'm having trouble with Steam and any Steam games. Some run behind WMC. Others take over the screen fine but when closed, WMC doesn't pop back up.
Steam seems to be the only one that does this...any idea why or what i could try?
