You've got to keep in mind this is the prices in Sweden too.

A bog-standard, cheap-as-you-can-get GTX 680 is 4500-4700 SEK. With that in mind I don't find ~6000 SEK such an unbelievable price for this card.

Also, it includes 25% VAT.

Edit: Oh, and 878 USD ~= 670 €.

If i have to pay so much more i wont be upgrading either.

They better bring the "GTX 685" with more than 2GB out of the box then.

4gb is good but does the 680 have a powerful enough GPU to push in modded game engines?

690 needs 6gb then..

if i see 690 with 4gb it will be pointless...

680 more memory than GPU speed
690 more GPU speed, memory limitation with addition in speed if 4gb...

When will these scenerios occur? modded game engines, Crysis,Doom3, if there are any other super files for them. Graphic modding is becoming more popular with older games. i am running Crysis @ 1920x1080 4xaa/12xedge 16xaf HD textures, Hitachi Cg-group files, and Cinelta HD. using 3 5870 FPS..18-30fps 45 high, and it starting to look like pixar!

These settings at 2560x1600 and 8x AA would be 0 FPS.....more speed and memory please. i want near Imax quality.

Then there are newer DX 11 games...i think 4gb is scratching the surface for what is in store.

BF3 isnt near its max studio quality in terms of raw camera and maxed GFX engine.

Doom3 with Sikk modd and Tex files max with Ray marching, i am @ 25-30FPS with 3 5870. @ 1920x1080 8xaa max filter

8GB is my vote.

Option number 2...

Upgradable memory on the GFX cards...

The way its ment to be played.

I like both AMD and Nvidia, and to tell you the truth, i whish 3DFX was still around. PC should be faster than were we are at

it took me since 2007 to get Crysis to this point. after 3 9800GTX mainboards, cpus, memory changes, to my class board, 950, GT memory, and 3-5870vid cards. all vids done on STOCK computer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BukMB...fr9DIdLpIiCSU=

680 would do this ofcourse and so many of the newer cards...

but 2560x1600 and 8X with ALL filters enabled. now that will be the day!
Caugh 60fps.

I find it a joke that the only real point in upgrading this year is to be able to play older games with GFX mods of which require more power than what AAA studios are putting out. Anyone else remember when upgrading was so you could play the latest games - But i guess we all know the reason.

Crysis released November 2007. 2012 and GPU still can't piss 60fps avg/min.

680 is still going to be a good card, but for a game that has ultra bells and whistles and the ability to link 4 cards and it still is an issue. (4) 680 with 4gb ram would work, and be quick for what i am doing @ 1920x1080 8x AA is def a reality. 16Xaa and GPU speed might be an issue and i cannot call for that on the 680 with my software spec and setup.

But 2560x1600 4X-8x-16x AA is a different ball game with all Filters enabled.

that vid and the others i have still dont have HD rocks, HD Foilage, HD grass...3 files remain that are not added, and those are BIG on image. now to render that and all the other upgraded files on the above resolution WITH aa. : D

They should have outfitted the 680 with 2,5GB by default instead of 2GB.

Okie but if you REALLY love Sikkmod you may want to think about cheap Nvidia card

They are like twice as fast then comparable AMD.
