i know how to google.
but i wondered, if any linux users here, assuming that they really exist, how they tune their machines to boot faster?
i my case i started to pry at Startup Applications Preferences.
some of apps i disabled,no brainer...like visual assistance,bluetooth,,etc
but some apps/services ..i wonder....Zeitgeist Datahub ,is this somethig that it helps me...for what i gathered ,it ''looks''at what i do...so i must enable/disable it ?

You could try to compile your own kernel. But it requires some learnin' researchin' and patience... in'

That way you can get rid of unnecesary modules and other stuff. I havent got around it yet (so i cant hand hold you through the process) but there are various tutorials around. If you're interested in OS tweaking, is way more fun than tweaking reg entries in Windows
