Default CrossFire On Nvidia motherboard - 05-10-2011, 03:41 | posts: 3

I have a question..
Is it possible to enable CrossFireX on a Nvidia motherboard?

For example:
2 6870s on MSI NF980-G65

Sorry if a thread like this is up already...

searched and found nothing

i didnt look up your board. but as long as it has 2 PCIe slots, you should be able to do crossfire, of course it will depend on how many lanes your board has.

it's not like nvidia SLI where you have to have a SLI certified board to do SLI.

For crossfire you will need to pick up profile caps and what not but other than those no you wont need "special" drivers. Your motherboard doesnt say anything about supporting crossfire, if i were you id do more thorough research into it. Most of the time when people try this either one of the cards wont be working, or it will be hardly working.

Sorry to inform you, but from what I've read the answer is "no".

It won't support crossfire. That board will only do SLI unfortunately...
