Unhappy HDMI bug? - 01-20-2011, 15:50 | posts: 453 | Location: Denmark

When I connect my Samsung SyncMaster P2470H with HDMI to my GTX295 the colour format is bugged. It's very greyish. I cannot seem to change the colour format in NVCP, the option is missing. If I use a DVI adaptor I can change the colour format to digital ycbcr444. With DVI I get a lot more options such as "HDTV Audio disable/enable" but not with HDMI. If I want to correct the colours with HDMI what should I do?
I just installed 266.58 I was using 260.63 before. I did use driver sweeper

Are you saying that it was working before and not with the new driver?
If yes, for sure there is a bug

You can report that here:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=190972

If you are lucky it will be fixed in 3 months (as the YCBCR bug I reported long time ago)
I guess you have SLI enabled... have you tried with SLI disabled?

On my setup HDMI ports are disabled when SLI is enabled so I'm using a DVI to HDMI plug as you are currently using. I cannot confirm if I have the same problem or not.

If I disable SLI HDMI does not work. :/
No it didn't work with 260.63 either. But I recall I got it to work with an older driver. The only reason I switched to DVI adaptor back in the days, was because it took a long time for windows to load the HDMI driver thingy :p But now I want to try dual monitors, one on each GPU. And GPU A only have HDMI input :/

Yeah it is a bug, I use HDMI>HDMI on my GTX 460, I got it to work again by doing this

Added a custom resolution for my monitor "1920x1080 progressive"

Then the colors came back

Oh nice I just tried that. It didn't change anything. I guess it's not possible atm. I will just have to do with DVI :p

You're lucky. I use Vista x64 I don't hope it's OS dependent... Could you just install the latest driver and everything worked like a charm? No need to mod or configure anything?
