Default The G3D Photo assignment of the week #2: Movement - 10-15-2010, 07:34 | posts: 6,152 | Location: Portland, Oregon

I had this idea for the next assignment. Hope you dont mind that I started a new one Repo. The theme is "movement". Examples are things like splashes, sports, race cars, dancing, etc. I expect to see some long exposures or fast shutter speeds to capture the right moment and emphasize it.

Here is from last assignment:

The first assignment shall be Objects: Bit like Still Life, take a picture of anything you like that you can find in your house such as pens, squashed beer cans, antiques, house hold appliances, cell phones... whatever. I thought this should be simple enough, yet one that has some room for creativity aswell.

The pictures should be fresh as in taken for the purpose of this little project, you can dig through your old ones too and post them but please do mention this.

Photoshopping is allowed if someone feels like adding a quirky surreal touch.

Keep the picture sizes reasonable, somewhere in the 1024px region for width and 800px tall for portraits, though i personally wont be a nazi about this.

Try to include the basic info of camera settings used ( such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed, focal length ) and the kit you used, again this isnt something thats gonna be enforced but it would be desirable.

If you dont mind others editing your pictures for a different take on it, then please mention this on your post.

Criticism and feedback is encouraged but not purely for the sake of it so keep it constructive, the aim is to get people photographing, not scare them away from it. Discussion is also allowed aslong as it stays on topic.

Finally, remember that this is an assignment, not a competition so no winners or losers will be picked and announced... atleast for the time being.

Ready... set... gotakepicsnow!

PS. almost forgot, feel free to post as many pics you like during the week. If theres enough interest in this, i ( or perhaps someone else ) will start a new assignment next tuesday.
The last assignment was stationary objects, now lets get moving!

**woah, hit 3000 posts.

Ah... here's my submission. Taken Tuesday 10/12/2010 - do I have to take a newer one after the assignment date?

That's a sweet shot cmj, wish I could afford a nice camera to get into photography properly.

These are sh!t, took them with a standard little cybershot couple years ago after I'd discovered i could do long exposures with it, had to climb onto a sketchy hotel rooftop for the roundabout ones lol.

i wish this one wasnt blurry

They're photos and there's movement in them so thought I'd post them anyway
