well you know its a new game, its not supported in the drivers, so things can only get better.
these test are done with catalist 9.10 , and hopefully things have been improved with 9.11 and 9.12.
but i know what your thinking, and yes your right, i only need 60FPS

in 2560x1600 theres 0 fps difference in 4AA and 0AA. in 1920x1200 theres a 1 fps difference.

That does seem odd -- definitely a driver quirk of some kind. Looks like 0xAA is applying 4xAA regardless of the setting.
I'll have to re-test the SLI GTX 285 and have a close look at IQ. But do not have the time right now, gotza give the 5970 a little priority that just arrived
But I'll look into the oddity this week and sort it out.

I just want to see how 5870 in CrossfireX will gonna trash down GTX295 with Catalyst 9.12 and crossfire fixed .
As I see that only 1 5870 kicks really hard on an nvidia made for game. CrossfireX could be forgoten with actual drivers.

GTX285 SLI seems to perform quite well with AA enabled.

First you say how well it's going to perform when drivers are fixed, but then you say that they don't need to fix those drivers...
Lets see if ATI gets those drivers out before Nvidia has g300 out.

For 1 5870 a see that the performance is good but for crossfirex the scaling sucks . Cat. 9.12 will have to deliver better performance.
If you test STALKER COP with 5870 crossfire it roacks as this one is optimized for AMD/ATI.

It's because game doesn't have driver support. Renaming game to something else might help before new drivers are out. Dunno which exe name W@W has, but it should help.

Ofc those will improve performance, no doubt about it. I'm just wondering, when those drivers are out. If game isn't very different from COD4 or W@W, then quite soon I think, if they need to actually fix something, then it may take longer.

Muropaketti will have review next week, I would expect Guru3D to have it about same time. Guru3D is usually the first site/one of the first sites to publich review, when NDA is lifted.
And I'm quite sure that there will be teaser before that review is out. Check this forum daily and you will not miss it
EDIT: Oops, that was posted yesterday, so review will be out this week.

Oh and to the Crossfire remarks, yes ... ATI needs a new driver for better optimizations as scaling is off. Only in 2560x1600 you'll notice a performance increase, the rest of the score goes down to some sort of CPU bottleneck (two GPUs require more CPU cycles than one single GPU) This is the reason why I only included so very few SLI / Crossfire results. As you can see, we immediately run into some minor issues.
For now try to focus on the single cards graphics performance. Later on once NVIDIA's and ATI's drivers are optimized withy proper profiles, of course we'll add the many multi-GPU scores in our reviews and perhaps update this article as well.

Well seems like holding off 5870's in xfire has been the right move until drivers get better.
Although will be interesting to see how Bodar gets on with his video review!
Couldnt see the speed of the Cpu anywhere in the review. I guess that omission was on purpose or I'm being blind
Still am chuffed with how it runs on the 5870. Getting a slowing down with the smoke on the first level though.
I wonder if Hilbert noticed this with his tests and it affected all cards...?
Very nice review!
