Default Rivatuner and Windows 7. - 07-20-2009, 16:18 | posts: 2,326 | Location: Pune, India

Hi friends,

Its a while now and i haven't seen a rivatuner update after 2.24 but i hope the work is in progress. I am using windows 7 for about a month and i am fully addicted to it and it is my primary os. I am even fully addicted to using rivatuner. I am wondering when will i be able to overclock and tune other settings using rivatuner for windows 7. I mean full functionality of rivatuner under windows 7.

2.24 is still the most recent

You can start using RivaTuner with Windows 7 right now. It is not officially supported, but myself and many others have been running it for many months now. I have not seen any issues on the 32 or 64 bit Win7.

Two tidbits worth noting:
1 - latest drivers are not detected by RivaTuner
2 - context help does not work

There are fixes for both of these found in the guide sticky.

RivaTuner 2.24 comes with a .rtu which is the signed 64 bit drivers. Did you select to install the available updates at install? If not, you can just dbl click the .rtu from the install package to install it.

To check, just look at the properties of the RivaTuner64.sys file. You'll see a Digital Signatures tab with a techPowerUp signer listed if it is signed.

If you really want to disable driver signing, google it. You need to modify the boot configuration using: bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS. Or if you just want to do it once to test, press F8 at startup and select it from the advanced boot menu.

One more thing, right click my computer and select properties, open the advanced system settings tab and select the hardware tab. Click on the device installation settings tab and select no, let me choose what to do and select never install driver software from windows update.
