Default Thank You Ray - 07-16-2008, 05:34 | posts: 5

I have been using ATT for several years now, since my x800pro. I now have a Sapphire HD3850 512mb and using the Beta 1.4.7.1210. Played COD4 multiplayer for about 4 hours, stable. No OC on the card. Also played Bioshock for about an hour, no problems. What a great product you have there Ray!

I could OC using ATT, but for some reason CCC didn't allow Overdrive. I used a 6pin to 8pin PCI-E adapter cable for the power supply to the card. From what I've read it draws 63w, so using the adapter shouldn't have been the problem with CCC, (I prefer ATT anyway). I used the 8.6 Hotfix from Sapphire for the CCC. CCC is still installed, just disabled from loading at startup (probably should uninstall it).

Anyway, thanks for a great product!

While we're in this spirit, thanks alot Ray for the hard work you've put into this program. All ATi users truely appreciate it. You haven't got the best of your card running without this proggy.

Yes Ray. The Sapphire HD3850 512mb AGP comes with 8 pin PCI-E connector on the card. But 6 pin is all the power the card needs. Must be some sort of DX10 or some other compliance for next gen cards. From what I have read 6 pin supplies an additional 75w to card and 8 pin an additional 150w to card.

I've never seen an 8-pin connector on at 3850?! I've owned a few of them. Really?

I sow no 8pin on 3850 or 3870! Are you sure you have 3850??? Can yu give me P/N or a link to vendor site with description about your board?
BTW. On 2xxx if you use 6pin, no Overdrive will be available in CCC
