Exclamation Rivatuner and 9800gx2 - 03-26-2008, 06:35 | posts: 53 | Location: Australia

Has anyone had any luck with changing the fan speed on 9800gx2 running quad sli? Im able to change the fan speed but it only seems to be affecting 2 cores rather than all 4.. 2 cores drop around 15 degrees intemp when the fan is turned up, but the other 2 cores remain the same..

also when overclocking, does it overclock both cards or just the one?

Thanks in advance.

I used Everest to check the fan speed and noticed only one card was at 100% while the other card was still at 45%.

the normal "switch monitors" and change fan speed doesnt work. i have a friend that has 9800GX2 SLi and when you switch monitors the "low level system settings" icon does not even show up.

so im not sure how to change tha fan speed in 9800GX2 SLI for the second card.

No promises yet, but probably 2.09 will give multi-GPU fan control to Quad SLI owners too.

As for now with v2.06 to current version, will RT change both fans on a given 9800 GX2?

There is _single_ fan on 9800GX2.

Have you tried the nVidia control panel? This does work for my 7950 GX2.
