I have a striker extreme with BIOS 1401 installed and the CPU will post but will not recognize the processor. It will post a 2.00 MHZ with a multiplier of 6. You are not able to change it to the stock configuration. The board is supposed to support the 8000 series Core 2 Duo processors, but sad to say they don't. The Asus web site doesn't list these processors as supported. They have a 1503 beta version BIOS, but I wouldn't install it.

I should have bought an EVGA 680i MB.

Hope this helps

^ the Striker and other 680i chipset boards will be supported from Asus and DFI, just need to wait on them since they write their own bioses.

And really, this could have just been added to the other 3 posts about this in the Intel Thread

I read about the problems 1501/2 had and then another post about a just completed 1503. I am at work and can't search for it, but I will try to track it down this weekend. I will try ftp Asus first.

I have a 8400 calling out to me, please overclock me :-)

Been looking for this 1503 bios everywhere, and no luck. i flashed to 1501 and my SLI has stopped working because of the bios, so i dont recommend using 1501. and really cant wait untill someone finds the 1503 to fix this SLI problem. driving me nuts

^ nope no word yet. i have been checking the Asus forums daily, as well as their FTP site. Nothing yet.

I imagine it won't be much longer. I'm hoping latest by the end of next week. Otherwise it will be getting close to a month that these chips have been released with no support. Kinda lacks..
