this movie was my 1st 3d movie, the movie was ok but the 3d effects were awesome, they gave me a set of 3d glasses, and my question is can i use them playing 3d games or does the game need to be coded as such?

The game doesn't need to be coded for 3D, but it would help if the game was properly coded in general. (Good 3D engine without using tricks for the HUD)
What kind of glasses are they?

You need two projectors/two polarised displays - one is polarised one way, the other is polarised at right angles to it, and you have polarised lenses on the glasses so only one side comes through for each eye. They are then projected slightly out alignment with one another.

I think that's how it works?

I'm sure it can be done, but i don't know if it would work projecting the same thing on both sides - you would probably need special source material and very careful setting up

There are a lot of ways of doing stereo, it could involve alternating left and right images on a screen and then finding a way to filter them, it could be from using a polarised projector with matching glasses, to alternating the images and blocking each eye alternatively, to using interlacing.
Oh and ofcourse the source material needs to be stereo

For the price it seems ok, especially as the glasses are really cheap.

1 thing though, is it possible to turn the 3d off and use the screen as a normal lcd?

Thats the only thing I cant seem to find the answer to and possibly main deciding factor for me
